Synthesis of Bimetallic Au–Pt / TiO2 Catalysts as an Efficient Catalyst for the Photodegradation of Crystal Violet Dye

Bimetallic Au –Pt catalysts supporting TiO2 were synthesised using two methods; sol immobilization and impregnation methods. The prepared catalyst underwent a thermal treatment process at 400◦ C, while the reduction reaction under same condition was done obtained identified with transmission electron microscopy (TEM) energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). It has been found that have dimension around 2.5 nm particles uniform orders leading to high dispersion of platinum molecules .The examined as efficient photocatalysts degrade Crystal violet dye UV-light. optimum values (0.05g in method, 0.07 g procedure. impact pH on degradation tested; it 10 is best media for reaction. effect temperature discussed when various temperatures used, heat photoreaction Ea estimated from Arrhenius relationship, concluded independent activation energy very small (Ea= 22 kJ/ mole). thermodynamic functions; entropy, enthalpy free figured out. positive ∆H# refer endothermic reaction, moreover, demonstrated an endergonic one according calculated activation. noticed increases, promotes production radicals, but exceeding more than used range causes reducing percentage crystal violet, reason due limitation conditions adsorption higher surface catalyst.
